Gong pricing in 2026: what it actually costs.

I brought Gong into 3 different companies that I worked for or consulted with. Here’s what a Gong contract really adds up to in 2026 – seats, platform fee, onboarding and AI credits – and what to buy instead if coaching reps is the point.

When looking to get a conversational intelligence tool, the obvious place to start is with Elanor of course but then Gong. They’ve dominated the space for 7 years or so. But finding their pricing information is extremely hard without meeting with a sales rep there.

So I get why "how much does Gong cost?" is such a frustrating question. Gong doesn't publish a price. You fill out a form, get on a call, and find out later that the per-seat number is only part of the bill.

Here's what Gong actually costs in 2026, line by line, from public reports. Then the question I think matters more: what are you actually paying for?

IN ONE SENTENCE

Gong doesn't publish prices, but buyers report roughly $1,300-$1,600 per user a year, plus a $5,000-$50,000 platform fee, onboarding and metered AI credits (as of October 2026). If you're paying that to make your reps better, Elanor Labs is the better buy; if forecasting is what you really use, Gong earns its price.

How much does Gong cost in 2026?

Short answer: roughly $1,300-$1,600 per user per year for the core license, plus a platform fee, onboarding, add-ons and AI credits. Gong doesn't publish prices, so every dollar figure below is reported by third parties, not by Gong.

Gong's own pricing page does confirm the structure: licenses are priced per user, and there's a platform fee based on the number of users supported (Gong). What buyers report (PitchMonster, Oliv, Gong):

Line itemWhat buyers report (Oct 2026)What to know
Core license~$1,300-$1,600 per user / yearLarger teams report the low end of the range
Platform fee~$5,000-$50,000 per yearMandatory; scales with headcount, doesn't shrink for small teams
Onboarding~$7,500+ one-time; enterprise quotes reported at $28,500-$65,000Required for most new customers
Gong Forecast~$206-$700 per user / yearSeparate application seat on top of the core seat
Gong Engage~$530-$800 per user / yearSeparate application seat on top of the core seat
Gong Enable (coaching and AI scoring)Separate application seat; no reliable public figureThis is where Gong's AI call scoring lives
AI credits2,000 per paid core seat per year, pooledExtra credits are sold in prepaid bundles
Renewal uplift~5-10% a year commonly reported; some buyers report up to 15%Unless you cap it in writing

What does Gong cost for a 10-rep team?

About $28,500 in year one, before add-ons, based on reported figures. Here's PitchMonster's illustrative small-team math (PitchMonster):

10-rep team, year one (illustrative)Reported cost
10 core licenses at ~$1,600~$16,000
Platform fee (low end)~$5,000
Onboarding~$7,500
Total before any add-ons~$28,500 (about $2,850 per rep)

Notice the platform fee. On a 10-rep team, $5,000 is about 31% on top of the licenses, and it doesn't shrink because your team is small.

Across all the Gong deals Vendr tracks, it reports a typical annual contract of $55,359, with deals ranging from $11,497 to $203,683, and buyers saving about 14% on average through negotiation (Vendr, as of March 2026).

How do Gong AI credits change the price?

They turn part of Gong's AI into a metered resource. Since June 2, 2026, each paid core seat adds about 2,000 credits a year to one shared company pool (PitchMonster, Gong Help Center).

A few details that matter on the order form:

  1. No rollover. Default credits reset at the start of each contract year. Purchased credits last until the end of the term (Gong Help Center).
  2. Add-on seats add nothing. Forecast, Engage and Enable seats don't add credits to the pool (Gong).
  3. What burns credits. Question-based AI trackers, Deep Mode, Gong Enrich (unless you bring your own data provider key), the MCP server, the API endpoints and automated briefs (Gong).
  4. Deep Mode is the big one. Gong estimates one Deep Mode research run at 1,000-3,000 credits (Gong Help Center). A 10-seat team gets 20,000 credits a year. That's roughly 7 to 20 Deep Mode runs if nothing else touched the pool.
  5. When the pool hits zero, credit-based features pause on new data until you buy more (Gong).

Gong's September 29 update lets admins set separate monthly caps for Deep Mode, Enrich and MCP, with alerts at 60%, 80%, 90%, 95% and 100% usage (Gong Help Center). Useful. Also a sign you now need someone watching the meter. I go deeper in Gong AI credits, explained.

What drives the Gong bill up at renewal?

Mostly three things, and Q4 is renewal season.

  1. The uplift. Annual increases of 5-10% are commonly reported (Coworker AI), and some buyers report up to 15% unless it's capped in writing (Oliv). One analysis says Gong's effective per-user cost rose 25-56% between 2023 and 2026 (Coworker AI).
  2. The notice window. Contracts often require 60-90 days' written notice to avoid auto-renewing for another full year (Oliv).
  3. Credit top-ups. If your team leans on Deep Mode or Enrich, the included pool can run dry, and extra credits are sold in prepaid bundles (Gong).

If you're rethinking the whole thing, I wrote up the Gong alternative built to make reps better.

So what are you actually paying for?

Real talk - when was the last time Gong actually helped you close a deal, or made one of your reps materially better? I'm genuinely asking.

Most of that bill buys an operating system for the revenue org: recording, forecasting, engagement, enrichment and now AI agents. Incredibly sticky, and great if you use all of it.

But look at where coaching sits. Gong's AI scoring answers the scorecard questions you write, based mainly on the call transcript, and it's sold with Gong Enable (Gong Help Center). That's a separate seat on top of the core license and the platform fee. And Gong's own help center says, "Sometimes, AI produces different outputs for identical inputs" (Gong Help Center).

So if you bought Gong to make your reps better, you may be paying the most for the parts you use the least.

Why Elanor is the better buy if you want better reps

1. Scoring is the whole product, not a line item

With Gong, call scoring is one feature inside an add-on seat. For Elanor, it's the entire point. She watches the full call, not just the transcript, and grades the behaviors that create or destroy revenue. We call that Revenue Behavioral Intelligence™.

2. A rubric for every meeting type, built with you

Gong's AI answers the questions you think to ask. Elanor scores every recorded call against a rubric built for that type of meeting, and we build those rubrics with you, from your own playbook. An intro call shouldn't be graded like a demo.

3. One number that explains itself

Every rep, team and company gets an RBI Score - a credit score for sales conversations. It breaks down into skills and the exact timestamped moments behind them. When a rep asks why they got a 68 and not a 75, the answer is right there on the call. No black box.

4. Every rep, every call, within minutes

Managers coach the bottom of the board. Sad but true, and your top performers almost never get real feedback. Elanor coaches everyone, on EVERY call. An hour-long call takes her roughly four minutes. I ran a call recently that felt awesome, and within minutes she scored it a 90 and showed me exactly what I could have done better. No more replaying it in my head.

5. Nothing to rip out

Elanor joins Zoom, Microsoft Teams and Google Meet as a notetaker, or works from the recordings you already have. Scores write back to HubSpot today (other CRMs: see integrations). You can start next to Gong and decide at renewal. Here's how it works.

Where Gong still earns its price

I'm obviously biased, so I'll say it plainly. If your leadership team runs the forecast out of Gong, your SDRs live in Gong Engage, or you rely on Gong Enrich and its agents, Gong earns its price for that work. Elanor doesn't do forecasting, deal boards, sequencing, dialing or data enrichment, and it isn't trying to.

You can run both: Gong for the pipeline, Elanor for the people. Or, if coaching was the main thing you bought Gong for, downsize Gong to what you actually use.

The lesson

The sticker price was never the real question. The real question is whether the thing you're paying for makes your reps better on their next call.

If you're staring down a Gong renewal this quarter and your reps' calls are recorded, reach out. We gotta chat. We'll run Elanor on your own calls so you can compare.
